Avinash K Rana is a senior legal, corporate governance and regulatory compliance professional. He has vast post-qualification experience (PQE) in practice and as in-house counsel in the Middle east and India region. Currently, Avinash is advising clients like a private office of Abu Dhabi Royal family member, Najaah Global Investments, Landeur Global Real Estate, Dolphin Contracting Company and advising other group companies on all subjects related to legal, corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters.  In the previous assignment, Avinash was a Partner of a Law Firm for 2 years practicing UAE law and was registered with Dubai Legal Affairs Department as practicing legal consultant.

During his professional career, he has worked for more than 15 years in the Middleeast with organizations like Kochhar & Co. (Inc.) Advocates & Legal Consultants Dubai, National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah (RAKBANK), Dubai and Al Ahlia Insurance Co. (RSA Oman), Oman and 11 years in India with organisations like Kotak Mahindra Bank, Essar Group and Godrej Group of companies and practiced law in Bombay High Court, India.

Avinash has assisted organizations in setting up of the in-house legal and regulatory compliance units. He has wide exposure in all the legal matters related to corporate laws, banking & insurance laws, commercial transactions, structures. Avinash has been rated as top four Legal Counsels and finalist of “Legal Counsel of the Year” - Corporate Counsel Middleeast Awards for two consecutive years (2014 & 2015) hosted by LEGAL WEEK, UK. 

Area of Practice:

Avinash’s primary area of practice are Banking & Insurance, Corporate Laws & governance, Commercial/Civil/Criminal litigation, Contracts, Construction/Real Estate and Alternative Dispute Resolution – Mediation & Arbitration. His general practice area includes Commercial transaction advisory, Regulatory compliance, Bankruptcy Administration, Corporate structuring, Mergers, Acquisitions & Joint Ventures, Fraud & Legal Investigations and Personal & Inheritance Law matters.
